Alsum Farms & Produce will introduce a 3 lb. Gourmet Potato Pouch Pack at the PMA Fresh Summit on Oct. 15-16 in Orlando. The pouch packs can be seen at the Alsum Farms & Produce Booth# 1429 at Fresh Summit.
Available year-round, Alsum Farms & Produce Gourmet Potato Pouch Pack provides a convenient grab-n-go concept for busy shoppers, helps extend product shelf life and prevents contamination from consumer handling, according to the compnay. In addition, the high-graphic pouch features a viewing window for consumers to see the potatoes. The pouch offers better merchandising for retailers as the pouch sits upright on the shelf, according to Alsum.
The 3 lb. Gourmet Gold B-Size Potato Pouch is available now at select retail grocers alongside Alsum Farms & Produce full-line of conventional, organic and specialty potato offerings. The 24 oz. Gourmet Blend Petite Potatoes Pouch and the 24 oz. Gourmet Blend Fingerling Potatoes Pouch will roll out later this fall as a part of the Alsum specialty potato offerings.

According to Potatoes USA, total fresh potato sales were up 2.2 percent in the quarter ending July 2, while volume of fresh potatoes sold at retail declined 2.4 percent. Varieties showing increases at retail included gold potatoes, up 11 percent, and fingerlings, up 15.7 percent.
