BrandStorm attendees to visit Clif Bar

United Fresh event to feature DOJ session

A workshop at this year’s United Fresh Washington Conference will focus on the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) approach to criminal investigations and prosecution enforcing laws under the Food, Drugs and Cosmetic Act (FD&C). Jeffrey Steger, assistant director in the Consumer Protection Branch, U.S. DOJ, will discuss the department’s approach to enforcement. Ag groups sponsor immigration reform campaign

The Partnership for a New American Economy (NAE) recently released 51 new economic research reports (one for every state plus the District of Columbia) and launched the Reason for Reform campaign. United Fresh hires new Food Safety & Technology VP

United Fresh Produce Association has named Jennifer McEntire, Ph.D., as its new vice president of Food Safety & Technology. She succeeds David Gombas, who retired from the association June 1 after 11 years leading its food safety program. United Fresh publishes white paper on Vermont labeling law

United Fresh Produce Association has published a white paper and legal backgrounder to assist member companies in understanding and complying with a labeling law for genetically engineered foods due to go in effect in Vermont on July 1.
