Heartland Farms makes major investments in business and community

Heartland Farms, based in Hancock, Wisconsin recently celebrated the opening of its new 30,000-square-foot farm operations, technology and training center. WPVGA presents annual industry awards

The Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) recognized several members of Wisconsin’s potato industry at its annual awards banquet on Feb. 5 at Stevens Point. Myron Soik was inducted into the WPVGA Hall of Fame. Soik, 79, is a longtime potato grower and owner of Myron Soik & Sons, based Stevens Point. Pavelski receives Emerging Leader Award

Jeremie Pavelski is the recipient of Spudman’s 2014 Emerging Leader Award. Bayer CropScience sponsors the award. Pavelski received the award at the National Potato Council’s annual banquet in San Antonio, Texas. Pavelski, 31, is the president of Heartland Farms, based in Hancock, Wis. He is a fifth-generation potato farmer from Wisconsin. His family has been growing potatoes in Wisconsin’s Central Sands area since 1873. He and his wife, Alicia, live in Arkdale.
