FAA proposes new UAS rules

The Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking public comment on proposed regulations for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).             The proposed regulations are for UAS under 55 pounds conducting non-recreational operations. The provisions include: daylight only operations; visual line-of-sight only; maximum speed of 100 mph; maximum altitude of 500 feet above ground level. EPA, Army Corps of Engineers propose rule to Clean Water Act

The EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers jointly released a proposed rule to clarify protection under the Clean Water Act (CWA). The proposed rule clarifies protection for streams and waters. Proposed definitions of waters will apply to all CWA programs. The proposal does not protect any new types of waters that have not historically been covered under the CWA.
