NPC prepares food safety document

The National Potato Council (NPC) has released a document, “Commodity-Specific Food Safety Guidelines for the Production, Harvest, Storage, and Packing of Potatoes.”

 The NPC commissioned the document to provide food safety guidelines for all companies that produce, harvest, store, pack and transport potatoes.

The guidelines are broken down into four sections: general practices, production and harvest operations, storage unit operations and packinghouse unit operations.
