Halloween & Party Expo Announces Special Guests for 2013
The Halloween & Party Expo announced two special guests who will be in attendance at the 2013 show, Jan. 19-22, in Houston. Celebrity fashion and costume designer, Chris March, will give a short interview and sign autographs, and expert pumpkin sculptor and carver Ray Villafane will perform live demonstrations of his art throughout the four-day show.
Chris March rocketed into the public eye as a finalist on the fourth season of “Project Runway.” Even before his stint on the popular design program, March was known by many for his over-the-top, out-of-this-world costume designs, but the televised platform bolstered his reputation nationally. It even led to his very own show on Bravo, “Mad Fashion,” which premiered last year and followed his daily life designing elaborate custom costumes for his clients.
March will speak with attendees at the Expo’s Education/Demo Center about his style, his inspirations and how he maintains his cheery and fun personality while dealing with deadlines and demanding clients. An autograph signing session will immediately follow his appearance.
Another guest adding an air of art to the Expo is Ray Villafane and his staff from Villafane Studios. Villafane’s work has been featured on the Food Network, “Good Morning America” and the “Today Show,” showcasing his talents for sculpting detailed faces and expressions into pumpkins. Villafane and his team will perform live demonstrations throughout the Expo, with a designated Q&A and autograph signing each day.
The 2013 Halloween & Party Expo takes place Jan. 19-22 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The 600,000 square foot show is one of the largest events of its kind, hosting more than 6,500 buyers and 350 manufacturers of party, costume and Halloween products from around the globe.
